My fascination with creating imagery began in my early childhood...
I know that life moves fast, so I want to help families capture the fleeting moments that mean the most. I have been photographing professionally since 2008 and utilize my talents to create time capsules that families can cherish forever.

Unlike many in my field, I relish working with children and rising to the challenges of getting everyone to smile and feel relaxed during a session. I am quick to assess moods, situations, and lighting, and will be present during each important moment, without ever becoming a distraction. While working with children professionally, I have continued to be amazed at how quickly the first-year speeds by, and at how important preserving milestones like first steps, baptisms and birthdays can be.

My fascination with creating imagery began in my early childhood as my mother was a prominent fine artist and photographer in Richmond. This interest soon grew from just spending time in the darkroom (we had one in my house!) to developing a true understanding of the art of photography before the digital world took over. My experience with printing and film didn’t turn into a lifelong passion until college, where I received my BFA in photography and film from the VCU School of the Arts. My other interest has always been computers. My father was a computer instructor who began teaching me to use the computer at an early age and continued my computer education through high school. I have become an expert not only in catching those special moments with my camera, but in using digital editing techniques to bring out the most of those images as well.

I have always valued reminiscing, and through my art and sense of humor, give clients the ability to cherish their most important memories for years to come.

My goal is to catch the intimacy of my client’s most precious events without ever letting the lens get in the way. I love hearing how much my work means to them and can’t imagine a greater satisfaction than providing families with carefully captured images of their most important moments.

Kate has been photographing my family since May of 2015 when I was pregnant with my first baby. She was there to photograph my pregnancy, c-section, newborn, 3/6/9 months, his first birthday, and everything in between. We have so many priceless images that she has captured and treasure each and every one. She is fast & efficient (which is super important with temperamental babies and husbands ) and makes everyday life look glamorous. Kate is super easy to work with and has amazing talent.
